The truth about materials
We stick with high-purity synthetic quartz. Why? Because it lets the UV light actually get out. You’ll see people using borosilicate glass because it’s cheaper, but it kills your UVC radiation. You’ll get way more punch per watt with our quartz, but there’s a catch—it’s fragile. These aren’t rugged tools. You can’t just toss them around. They need a precise mount to keep them from vibrating and snapping. To help with that, we offer a few different end-cap options. We want them snug in your housing so you aren’t wasting energy with light leaking out the sides.
Cutting out the “Distributor Tax”
A lot of suppliers just buy pre-made tubes, slap a new label on them, and call it a day. We blow the glass and make the filaments. That removes the “distributor tax” entirely.
